The Sessions

Our relaxed life drawing sessions are aimed at artists who are happy to be self-guided (not taught) and to bring their own resources to the session. If you are unable to bring your own resources, you can choose the ‘Drop-in +’ option below when booking, and we will provide you with paper, a drawing board and materials to use.
Each week we have an optional theme, in case you feel like stepping outside your usual drawing comfort zone. This might be a suggestion to use a particular material (e.g. ink), or to focus on certain aspects of looking (e.g. ‘shapes’), or mark making (e.g. contours). It’s totally up to you if you want to follow the week’s prompt or not.
During sessions we will be drawing a nude, professional life model, and the occasional dressed model. Midway, there will be a break where you can sample Saskia’s famous flapjacks (included in your ticket price) 🙂

What People Say

‘I joined Saskia’s life drawing sessions this year and really enjoyed them.  I hadn’t done much life drawing before and learnt a lot just from having a go and getting ideas on materials and compositions from Saskia and from the other participants. Saskia is highly professional and a great artist and very skilled at creating a relaxed atmosphere in the class, just right for drawing.  I felt she got the very best from the models, respectful and friendly, putting them at their ease and working with them to create good poses for drawing…….and oh, yes, she made excellent flapjacks for our break.’
Chrissy
‘Lovely, relaxed life drawing session with no pressure, no-one looking over your shoulder and a good model.
Pete
‘I loved every moment of the life drawing class, it was my first time and I was welcomed warmly by Saskia. The space was perfect, and the atmosphere very relaxed and everyone was friendly. The model was excellent , we started with short poses leading onto longer ones as the evening progressed. Looking forward to the next class.’
